Chicago Lifestyle vs Studio Newborn Photography.
I haven’t been able to photograph newborns and babies for the past two months because of the COVID19 quarantine, and I’ve missed it a lot. In the first week of self-isolation, I got my new props for newborn and maternity photography, and it was really heartwarming to see those cute props that I normally use at newborn sessions.
Studio newborn photography has many benefits over lifestyle photography at home. Lifestyle photography can be very beautiful and genuine, but parents need to be prepared for it and may not have time for other things, like cleaning up.
With studio newborn photography, you don’t need to worry about what your newborn will wear or anything else. It’s convenient and less stressful, and you can get perfect images that will last a lifetime. My studio is clean and offers a variety of sanitized outfits and props for newborns. Some photo sessions may last 2-3 hours, and parents can enjoy free time with healthy snacks and relaxation..
Lifestyle photography captures the natural connection between parents and baby, without posed newborn shots. Newborn studio photography often uses posed shots, such as “bump up,” “hands on chin,” or “froggy.” These poses can be difficult to achieve, so photographers often take newborn workshops and trainings. Usually, these posed newborn portraits look aesthetically pleasing for wall art prints.
Before choosing a newborn photography style, parents should consider factors like the photographer’s experience, the type of session, and the location. Narmin Nasir is the newborn photographer and family photographer and offers a newborn family and cake smash session in my downtown Chicago studio that includes parents and siblings in the newborn session. This way, you’ll not only get beautiful images of your newborn, but of your entire family.
Stay safe and healthy everyone!
